While the original Year of the Snake was made in a Churchill format, this year’s edition is rolled in a thinner, snake-like size measuring 7 inches by 43 ring gauge. The blend consists of an Ecuadoran wrapper and binder atop a filler blend of Dominican (a hybrid the company refers to as “98”) and Mexican San Andrés Negro tobacco. According to the company, this marks the second instance ever in the Davidoff portfolio a cigar has been blended with Mexican filler tobacco, and the first use of the Dominican “98” hybrid. In terms of strength, it’s a medium-bodied cigar.
